Renfrew Giveaway !

Hello party people

So, I hope you have all had a cracking week thus far ? Sorry I didn't get back to you at the weekend, I finished my latest project (another skirt !) and decided to crack straight on with another.  :-)    I should rename this blog

'A thousand skirts, one pattern'

Well, I have made each version slightly different from the last, adjusting the pattern each time, so I guess its ok to keep churning out the skirts?  My latest version is a tightly fitted indigo stretch denim number with a back vent (Thanks Sunni). I will share these 2 new makes with you, once I can get some pictures snapped (oh god, not more photos of me ! Bleaugh !)

It seems I am not the only person who has greedily sewn up 2 items at once ! Check out the lovely Gail and the 2 beauties she sewed up this week !

So - on to my belated blog giveaway.

Because I love you all so much I am giving away one copy of the Sewaholic RENFREW top.

You can see Tasia's here   :-)  she is just as cute as a button !

Pattern giveaway

Well friends,

YAY ! It's Friday - we made it !

I must admit that work on the Jasmine has stopped.   Boo !

The second part of redoing our kitchen is in full force, and, after a recce it is looking ever more doubtful that I can work around tools and decorating gumpf in order to get that baby's sleeves sewn on.

Oh well, at least Dolly is enjoying wearing the almost finished Jasmine - its pretty cold here right now and she is usually naked ! She is a bit of a hussy in that way - she has absolutely no body hang up's AT ALL   :-)

I have been sorting through my fabric stash and pattern collection for my next projects. I am going to make a brown linen skirt next, closely followed with the same style skirt but a wonderfully sunny and happy fabric. I cant wait ! I love feeling excited about sewing, and the thought of it often keeps me awake for ages at night. I get really very happy when pinning fabric to Dolly and adding a cardigan to make an outfit.

QUICK ! Someone call the sad police !

But I digress.

Sorting through the patterns there are a few that I will never make, (not cos I dont like em - but because I KNOW they wont look good on me) so I want to offer em up if anyone wants them (they will be heading to the charity if no one does).

I must say both the patterns look better in the line drawings (in my opinion) and so I have captured those drawings for you too.

The patterns are both uncut and factory folded. If you want one just leave a comment to say which you would prefer.
If anyone does leave a comment I will use the random generator jobby to choose who gets.

Of course - I am happy to ship international  :-)

Size 14 - 22

Size 16 - 24
Vile drawings ! I bought this pattern for skirt view E

View E could be very nice me thinks
So - there you have it. If you want - just say the word !

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend  :-)

So, I have 2 things up for grabs !

Second up:

Is one pattern of your choice from the lovely Tasia's Sewaholic patterns on me xx.

Happy browsing !

All you have to do to enter is leave me a comment stating which item you would prefer (if the choice is possible when drawing names ! Obvs first out will get first choice).

The give-away will be open until I get home from work on Monday 13th February (around 4 pm UK time)

Something made, and something to give (away) !

Hello people,

I hope you are having lovely weeks.

I have not progressed with my Sencha, I am going to continue with that at the weekend. But I am feeling very smug as I wore my Ginger today ! I love it sooo much. It is quite a feeling, wearing something I have made myself.

I do need to do something with the waistband, as its too big and flares out. But this is a minor hitch, hidden well by a wide belt   :-)    I cant wait to make some more, and have been looking at my fabric stash to see what to make my next Ginger with. Its very exciting !

I did finish a patchwork cushion though. It was actually made with the intention of gifting it to an old work colleague. I even made it with fabrics she would love (they are so not my own choice).  However, time is a great loser of things, and sadly I have not spoken to her for well over a year due to changes in jobs etc. As such I am going to keep it ! Wow is that selfish ?!

Here she is (the cushion, not the colleague !)

(please excuse her un-ironed state ! The creases don't seem so bad until you photograph them !!)

Uh oh ! even my fresh bedding looks slightly worse for wear ! Note to self, must put the washing away FOLDED, rather than just shove it in the cupboard in a ball !!

I do like this though  :-)    I made the patchwork in strips, and the sewed them together along the length. Turned out pretty good, but was quite time consuming.

To make amends for my selfish behaviour, and rebalance karma I AM going to give something away !

Ta da !

She's a piece of Cath Kidston, measuring 21 inches x 18.5 inches. (is that a fat quarter ?)

I know she is not massive, but she IS pretty  :-)   I love her alot, but feel that she could do better than just laying about in a bag. I want to see her used in a fabulous way ! (or at least used).

Here is another pose

Again - please excuse my crumpled bed.

I know its not the most ground quaking give away, but it does mean lots to me as I LOVE this little piece of fabric.        :-))

All you need to do to win my pretty is leave me a comment on this post by midnight (UK time) on Saturday 10th September.

The winner will be picked at random, but it would be nice if you felt you could share what you might use a small, pretty piece of fabric like this for. I would love to hear what you might do with it.

I am happy to post to anywhere (obviously within the realms of possibility - aliens need not apply !)

Please also leave your contact details if they are not on your blog.

In other news I am busy working on my last assignment for this uni module, and am looking forward to October when my exams are done and I am FREE TO SEW !!

I also had my bank account hacked a couple of days ago, and I tell you, the person who used my details certainly had fun ! I'm guessing MUCH more than I have had trying to get it sorted.  (oooops is it Karma for keeping the cushion ?)

To be fair, my bank has been pretty good about it, but it is a pain not having access to my bank, or a debit card ! People, look after your details !!

Right so, off to work on my assignment, see you on the other side,
